It all started watching Martha Stewart's cupcake week...I loved all the different things you could do with one simple cupcake and thought I can do that. So here I am blogging about my cupcakes. These cupcakes were some I saw on her show and I attempted to make my own version with an actual cupcake. They are amazing!!! 
What is a cupcake with a chocolate shell?
It's just what it sounds like...a cupcake dipped in chocolate, just like a chocolate covered pretzel. These particular cupcakes are chocolate with a milk chocolate bottom and a white chocolate top (just colored pink)...you could do so many flavor variations of this.

Cupcake RecipeFor my first attempt at these cupcakes I just used a Duncan Hines box cake for the inside and made mini cupcakes. I used the Wilton melting chocolates for the outside shell and topped it with non-parelis. Martha Stewart had Bakerella as a guest demonstrating how to make these cupcakes but she did a cupcake pop version...go check them out, they are so cute.

These cupcakes were a huge hit. I definitely can't wait to give the Bakerella version a try. The cupcake pops would make such great favors.
